Ethiopia, UK Sign MoU on Strengthening Peace, Stability in Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia Border

Ethiopia and the United Kingdom signed Friday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance peace and stability in the Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia border areas.

The agreement signed to build resilience against drivers of violent extremism among communities residing across border areas of the three countries.  

Ambassador Jemaludin, Deputy Director General of the Africa Department and the British Ambassador to Ethiopia Darren Welch inked the MoU in a ceremony held on the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA).

The two sides expressed their commitment to working together to reduce the threat posed by Al-Shabaab in the region, according to MoFA.
