Ethiopia and the United Kingdom signed Friday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance peace and stability in the Kenya-Somalia-Ethiopia border areas.
The agreement signed to build resilience against drivers of violent extremism among communities residing across border areas of the three countries. ย
Ambassador Jemaludin, Deputy Director General of the Africa Department and the British Ambassador to Ethiopia Darren Welch inked the MoU in a ceremony held on the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA).
The two sides expressed their commitment to working together to reduce the threat posed by Al-Shabaab in the region, according to MoFA.
