The Ethiopian Airlines this week announced that it has signed joint business agreement with the National Airlines of United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways,
Ethiopian called it a “landmark Joint Business Agreement.” The agreement is said to help the airlines “to enhance connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.”
Etihad is launching daily flights to Addis Ababa starting October this week while Ethiopian Airlines will commence flights to Abu Dhabi starting this July. Ethiopian Airlines frequency of planned flights to Abu Dhabi is unspecified.
“This strategic partnership includes a codeshare arrangement and the launch of new flights between Addis Ababa and Abu Dhabi, creating more seamless travel opportunities,” Ethiopian Airlines stated in a brief statement it shared on its social media page.
Earlier this week Ethiopian Airlines announced the launch of four weekly flights to Vietnamese capital Hanoi.
